Finding my Purpose as a Blogger

Hello, Donnas!!

The switch finally clicked. Since I started blogging last January I was stumped on what my “purpose” as a blogger was and even though I was unsure, I started blogging anyway! If you are unsure about something but want to start a new venture, go for it! There are always moments of uncertainty in any journey. I don’t regret blogging for a year without a clear mission, but I also feel like someone has cleaned my glasses and put them back on my face now that I have!

As a person, people always describe me as compassionate and kind. I always thought that those were words that described most people, and although that’s partially true, I was thinking last night about how that is really my mission every single day. I love making people smile and laugh, I get a rush from it!

Even as a child, people would tell me that I was the type of person “who would give the shirt off my own back to give it to someone else” and “I wear my heart on my shoulder” and that is still true to this day. In High School, I was inspired by Rachel Scott, the first victim of the Columbine massacre and was an advocate for starting a Friends of Rachel club in my high school to spread kindness and end bullying. I was a part of almost every other club and tried to make a friend out of everyone. That same attitude spread into my life after graduating high school. It just registered in my brain that everything I do is to make other people happy in spread kindness.

That being said, I realized that using all of the same tactics I use in my life everyday to make people happy is how I can make an impact in the blogging and social media world! That being said, I will be spreading kindness throughout my blog from now on within my normal fashion & lifestyle content and I am so excited about it. I hope that by you all reading positive content and quotes about kindness will inspire you to commit one act of kindness each day yourself! As I said in my Instagram post today, “kindness is contagious, spread it like the flu”! That is what I want to do as a blogger!

As you probably have noticed if you have been a reader of my blog for a while, at the end of each post, I share an inspirational quote that I have made up to inspire you all. I hope that if you remember anything from my post, it’s that what you read has inspired you in some way. From now on, I am going to try to create a small quote or blurb on each post relating to kindness and improving your life!

I hope you are all as excited about my new revelation as I am and I think it’s going to be a great thing for the growth and development of my blog going forward! I am so thankful for all of you who continuously come back to my blog to see what I have to say!

Today, I want you all to think of how you can make someone’s day better and send at least one text message to a friend or family member that is thoughtful and will either cheer them up or let you know that you are thinking of them and care.

Until next time, my friends, spread kindness like the flu!
