A Tourist In My Own City & OOTD

Hello, Donnas!

Happy Sunday! I hope you have been making the most of your weekend! I have been relaxing with family and following along with the Yankees hoping they can make it to the World Series! I have also been watching as many horror movies as possible to embrace the fall vibes 🎃!

This past Monday I took the Columbus Day holiday to play the role of a tourist in my own city! I moved down to NYC in May but have been visiting since I was in 5th grade. It has always been my dream to move here and I spent countless birthdays here in anticipation of my eventual move. That being said, there are still places that are touristy that I have yet to visit or that I would love to visit again and I take full advantage of the opportunities I get to roam the city aimlessly!

Fair warning, this is a photo heavy post!

One of the places I had never visited was the Grand Central Market. I have been through Grand Central countless times but for whatever reason, I had never made my way through the Market! This is such a cute little market with everything from deli meat to Halloween decor! They even had fresh flowers, specialty cheese, chocolates and coffee beans, as well as adorable NYC themed gourmet cookies! Isn’t the taxi cookie above so adorable?

Since I was playing to role of tourist, I thought it was only right to take the typical photo in front of the Grand Central info center!

After Grand Central, I went on a mini shopping spree to Bath and Body Works and Urban Outfitters! I shared pieces of my day on my Instagram story! If you aren’t already following me there, you can by clicking here. My username is @midtowndonna! If you want to see what I purchased at Bath and Body Works, you can read my mini haul post by clicking here.

Next, I went to visit one of WeWork’s office locations and fell in love with their aesthetic! I would definitely rent an office there if I ever made it in the blogging world!!

I wish my apartment looked like this! 😍 They has Brooklyn Brewery Beer on tap which is my favorite beer! They also had such cool books on display. I really want to get my hands on a copy of “Humans of New York” for my coffee table! Realistically, who wouldn’t want to work in this awesome environment?! I wish this post was sponsored by them because I seriously fell in love with their offices as soon as I stepped foot inside! If you are a successful blogger and are looking for desk space to rent, look into WeWork! They are affordable and the atmosphere cannot be beaten!

Another two shots at WeWork Showing off my OOTD. But before we go into the outfit details, can we take a moment to absorb the beautiful wooden tables with gold tabletops?! I need these in my life!

Now on to the OOTD details:

– Scooped Neck Dress with Lace $56

9 color options & sizes XS-XL

– Victoria’s Secret yoga leggings- Similar Pair

– GH Bass Quilted Duck Boots in Navy – Similar Pair (They may release something more similar later in the season)

Imoshion Avalinn Handbag in Black $35

Extra Large Tassel Charger in cream from Accessories by Jamie P’s Etsy Shop $25 (charm on my handbag)

I love this outfit for a casual day around the city! This dress could have been worn without the leggings underneath with heels or flats. On Monday it was raining so styling it with my favorite duck boots and leggings was absolutely perfect! I really like how versatile this piece is! It’s perfect for game day of a lunch out with friends! I definitely recommend it for your fall wardrobe! The bell sleeves are the cherries on top of this little number!

Overall, it was great to spend a morning and afternoon in the city pretending to be a tourist and exploring some new territory! The most enjoyable part of living in NYC is that there is always something to do or see!

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed this post!

Remember, love yourself and then share that love with others!

    1. I definitely agree! It’s funny how quickly you get used to where you live and forget to enjoy the things around you! It was nice to explore a little more and revisit some of my favorite places! Thanks for reading!! 😊
